White House Press Secretary Accuses Fox News Correspondent of Political Bias

During a press briefing on Monday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre accused Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy of displaying political bias. Jean-Pierre referred to former President Donald Trump as Doocy’s “favorite president” and did not allow him to counter her accusation. This exchange occurred after Doocy asked about an ABC poll that revealed a decline in voter perception regarding President Biden’s mental sharpness and health since May.

Doocy questioned, “Karine, why do you think it is that four or more people polled feel like over time, President Biden is getting less and less mentally sharp?” Jean-Pierre sought clarification on the poll’s source, and Doocy cited an ABC poll indicating a drop in President Biden’s health ratings by five points and mental sharpness by four points since May.

Jean-Pierre responded, expressing confusion about the decline in ratings, highlighting President Biden’s achievements, including the bipartisan infrastructure deal. Doocy interjected, asking about his “favorite president,” to which Jean-Pierre replied, “Why don’t we let the American people guess?” She continued to emphasize Biden’s accomplishments, such as the CHIPS and Science Act and the Inflation Reduction Act, arguing that these demonstrate the president’s effectiveness. Despite Doocy’s attempts to push back, Jean-Pierre maintained her perspective on Biden’s capabilities and contributions.
