Baltimore County, MD — A shooting incident occurred on the 8500 block of Loch Raven Blvd around 7:15 p.m. Monday evening, prompting a large police and emergency response. Multiple reports of gunfire led officers to the scene, where they discovered a vehicle on its side, engulfed in flames, according to Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough.

The Baltimore County Fire Department responded quickly, extinguishing the fire, providing medical treatment to victims, and transporting them to a nearby hospital, said Fire Chief Joseph Dixon.

“This is an incident that is shocking, particularly for those of us in Baltimore County,” said County Executive Johnny Olszewski. “These types of incidents are really unheard of here, so it really shocks the conscience.”

The police department believes the shooting was a targeted attack and assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community. The investigation is ongoing, with local authorities asking anyone with information to come forward.

Assisting with the investigation are the Baltimore County Fire Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
