Shooting Erupts at Philadelphia Ramadan Festival, Five Arrested

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – Chaos ensued on Wednesday as gunfire erupted at a Ramadan festival in Philadelphia, resulting in the arrest of five individuals.

According to Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel, three people were shot during the incident, which involved two groups exchanging gunfire in the midst of approximately 1,000 festival attendees.

During a press conference, Commissioner Bethel revealed that police encountered three males and one female fleeing the scene while exchanging gunfire.

Law enforcement recovered a total of four weapons in connection with the incident. Of the five arrested individuals, four were found to be carrying weapons, consisting of three males and two females.

Notably, a female officer engaged with a 15-year-old male armed with a firearm, resulting in the suspect being hit in the shoulder and leg. The injured teen was subsequently transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center for treatment.

Further details emerged as three additional victims from the shooting arrived at the hospital for treatment. According to CNN, footage captured the swift response of law enforcement vehicles rushing to the scene in response to the unfolding incident.

Commissioner Bethel confirmed that the injured suspect is in stable condition and is being treated as a suspect.

Among the victims, a 22-year-old individual sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach, believed to have been inflicted during the shooting. Another victim arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the hands. Fortunately, all three injured individuals are reportedly in stable condition, according to sources.
