Senator John Kennedy Criticizes Vice President Kamala Harris, Says American People See Her as “Not Capable”

Louisiana Republican Senator John Kennedy delivered a scathing critique of Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday, asserting that the American people have collectively deemed her “not capable.” Senator Kennedy pointed to various issues, including the U.S.-Mexico border crisis, inflation, rising crime rates, and international conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, as he assessed the performance of both Harris and President Joe Biden.

Highlighting the ongoing challenges at the U.S.-Mexico border, Senator Kennedy referenced data indicating that over 2 million illegal immigrants have been encountered during fiscal year 2023. He emphasized that approximately 8.4 million people have entered the country illegally since Biden and Harris assumed office, expressing concerns about the lack of knowledge regarding their identities.

Kennedy attributed these challenges to what he characterized as the administration’s belief in open borders and its alignment with the “neo-socialist woke-wing” of the Democratic Party. Despite President Biden appointing Harris as the “border czar” in March 2021, Kennedy criticized her limited engagement with the border issue, emphasizing the American people’s perception of an open border and growing inflation.

While acknowledging the impact of the administration’s policies on the public, Kennedy stated, “The American people may be poorer under President Biden, but they’re not stupid.” He highlighted the concerns over an open border, inflation, and widespread crime, suggesting that the public has concluded that President Biden is aging and that Vice President Harris is not viewed as capable.

In recent polls released by Quinnipiac and NBC, both Biden and Harris trailed former President Donald Trump, raising concerns among some Democrats about the upcoming reelection campaign in 2024. Senator Kennedy concluded by emphasizing that while he may not personally endorse the public’s perception, it reflects a prevalent conclusion among Americans. Harris has not responded to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
