Republican Presidential Candidate Ron DeSantis Unharmed in Car Accident En Route to Tennessee Event

Ron DeSantis, the Republican presidential candidate, was involved in a car accident on Tuesday morning while traveling to an event in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Fortunately, he was unharmed, as confirmed by Bryan Griffin, the campaign Press Secretary.

Additionally, it was reported that DeSantis had a scheduled appearance at a fundraiser in Knoxville on the same day, as mentioned in Knoxville News.

“This morning, the governor was in a car accident while traveling to an event in Chattanooga, Tennessee,” Griffin said in a statement. “He and his team are uninjured.”

“We appreciate the prayers and well wishes of the nation for his continued protection while on the campaign trail,” he added.

Four of DeSantis’ motorcade cars collided after traffic slowed on I-75 southbound, a Chattanooga Police Department spokesman told the Daily Caller. One DeSantis campaign staffer was treated for minor injuries after the motorcade continued on to the event, the spokesman added.

While many internet commenters offered well-wishes, liberal pundit and political operative Bill Kristol complained that the campaign’s statement was “grandiosely and self-importantly and pretending-he’s-engaged-in-a-dangerous-enterprise on brand.”

This is a breaking news story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
