Manhunt Underway for Suspect in Fatal Shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO in Manhattan

Police in New York are actively searching for the individual responsible for the fatal shooting of Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, in a targeted attack. The shooting occurred outside the Hilton Hotel in midtown Manhattan as Thompson was on his way to attend an investor conference. The gunman, who was seen wearing a black jacket and a mask, fled the scene on an e-bike and was last spotted near Central Park.

Investigators believe the attack was premeditated, though the motive remains unclear. Thompson’s wife, Paulette, confirmed that her husband had been receiving threats in the past, but he chose not to travel with security despite these warnings. Shell casings found at the scene were inscribed with the words “deny,” “defend,” and “depose,” adding to the mystery surrounding the incident.

Law enforcement officials are continuing their efforts to locate the suspect and gather more information about the attack.
