Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project Urges DOJ Investigation into Joe Biden’s Use of Aliases

In a significant development, the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project is calling on the Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate the use of aliases by Joe Biden during his tenure as vice president. This move is part of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s ongoing investigation into whether Biden mishandled classified documents.

In a letter addressed to Hur’s office, the Heritage Foundation highlighted concerns regarding Joe Biden’s apparent use of pseudonyms and commercial email accounts for official government communications, including those involving his son, Hunter Biden. These communications encompassed discussions with foreign leaders, presidential statements, and other government affairs. The Heritage Foundation’s letter raises questions about compliance with federal records laws and the potential transmission of classified materials through non-governmental channels.

Additionally, the House Oversight Committee has also taken steps to uncover these aliases. The committee sent a letter to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in August, requesting access to documents and communications in which then-Vice President Joe Biden used a pseudonym. Emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop archive reveal aliases such as Robin Ware, Robert L. Peters, and JRB Ware.

The Heritage Foundation’s letter emphasizes the importance of Hur’s investigation in the context of handling classified documents and other records. It calls for access to full server records for domains used by Joe Biden and suggests the inclusion of investigations into the use of burner cell phones, a standard practice in such inquiries.

Special Counsel Robert Hur assumed his role in January 2023 following the discovery of classified documents at the Penn Biden Center and Joe Biden’s residence in Wilmington, Delaware. However, the extent of his investigative activities, including whether subpoenas have been issued or potential witnesses interviewed, remains unclear.

While the White House has asserted that Joe Biden was not involved in business dealings with his son, reports suggest that Hur is seeking to interview the president. This investigation follows the indictment of former President Donald Trump by Special Counsel Jack Smith in June for alleged mishandling of classified documents.

Heritage Oversight Project Director Mike Howell expressed impatience with the investigative process, stating, “I’m sick and tired of this wait-and-see with the Special Counsels who apparently run our justice system.” He also questioned the legitimacy of the Penn Biden Center’s function and highlighted the need for transparency in uncovering the use of pseudonyms and non-governmental communication methods by Joe Biden.

NARA has acknowledged possessing more than 5,000 emails and 200 pages of potential government records containing Joe Biden’s aliases. However, the White House has utilized its authority under the Presidential Records Act to withhold numerous emails related to Joe Biden and his son’s business dealings.

These allegations are intertwined with the larger controversy surrounding the Biden family’s financial dealings with entities in Ukraine, Russia, China, Romania, and Kazakhstan. While Hunter Biden’s former business associate, Devon Archer, has testified about the Biden family’s involvement, Joe Biden’s awareness of these activities remains a contentious point.

The FBI is also investigating allegations that Ukrainian oligarch Mykola Zlochevsky sent bribes worth $10 million to Joe and Hunter Biden. Joe Biden’s potential involvement in these alleged bribes is currently under scrutiny.

While Hunter Biden faced charges in Delaware, including tax misdemeanors and a felony gun charge, the case took an unexpected turn when his guilty plea and diversion agreement collapsed due to concerns over an immunity provision. IRS whistleblowers have accused the DOJ of granting special treatment to Hunter Biden during its investigation.

Despite the ongoing investigations and controversies, President Joe Biden has refrained from making extensive comments, stating, “I have no comment on any investigation that’s going on. That’s up to the Justice Department, and that’s all I have to say.”

The Department of Justice did not provide a response to inquiries at the time of publication.
