Fire Damages Sen. Rand Paul’s Bowling Green Office and Surrounding Building

On Friday morning, a fire broke out in Bowling Green, Kentucky, severely damaging a commercial building on State Street that houses various offices, including Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul’s local office. The building also accommodates the law office of Kerrick Bachert and Dezign Tees, as reported by the Bowling Green Daily News.

The Bowling Green Fire Department responded to the blaze at 1:45 am, and firefighters worked tirelessly to combat the fire as videos on social media showed efforts continuing as late as 8:30 am. Unfortunately, the fire caused the building’s roof to collapse and resulted in significant structural damage.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the extent of the damage to the offices and the surrounding premises. Further updates and details will be made available as the situation develops.

“We are thankful for the Bowling Green first responders who arrived quickly to the scene to put out the fire, and are continuing to work with authorities to assess damages and to determine a cause. We have a very well established emergency management plan and have the ability to continue operations that will not impact our work helping Kentuckians,” Paul said in a statement to the Daily Caller.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to the spokeswoman. Thirty-one firefighters responded to the blaze. They had to cut down tree limbs to access the second floor of the building
