Democrats Question Credibility of Hunter Biden’s Ex-Business Partner Amid Allegations

In a dramatic turn of events, Democrats on the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability expressed skepticism regarding the credibility of Tony Bobulinski, Hunter Biden’s former business partner, during a contentious hearing on Wednesday. Bobulinski had previously accused President Joe Biden of dishonesty regarding his involvement in foreign business dealings with his son and brother.

Bobulinski, who collaborated with Hunter Biden, James Biden (the president’s brother), and two others at Oneida Holdings, a shell company established in May 2017, alleged that the Biden family name was exploited to secure lucrative deals with China Energy Company (CEFC). He also claimed that these transactions were manipulated by the Chinese Communist Party to influence the Obama White House.

Presenting texts, emails, and other evidence to support his claims, Bobulinski faced relentless scrutiny from Democrats, who portrayed him as a vindictive liar aiming to curry favor with former President Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 election.

During a particularly notable exchange, New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez pressed Bobulinski to specify a crime he had personally witnessed Biden commit, prompting a discussion about legal terminology.

Despite Bobulinski citing statutes such as the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), Ocasio-Cortez disputed the characterization of RICO as a crime.

While Democrats rallied behind E. Jean Carroll’s lawsuit against Trump, Bobulinski’s allegations faced intense scrutiny, reflecting a perceived double standard in their approach to accusations. Despite Bobulinski’s presentation of corroborating evidence, Democrats adhered to a strategy of attacking the witness rather than engaging with the substance of his claims.
