Actress Hannah Waddingham Praises Tom Cruise’s Positive and Encouraging Presence on Set of “Mission: Impossible 8”

During a Christmas day appearance on ITV’s “James Martin’s Saturday Morning,” actress Hannah Waddingham opened up about her experience working with Tom Cruise on the upcoming “Mission: Impossible 8.” Waddingham, who co-stars with Cruise in the film, passionately defended the star against critics and shared her positive impressions of him.

Expressing her admiration, Waddingham stated, “I have to say, I have a real problem with anybody that goes at [Tom Cruise] now.” After spending five intense days working closely with Cruise, she described him as “one of the most lovely, encouraging, positive, and inspiring human beings I have ever met.”

While Tom Cruise has faced criticism for his off-screen behavior, including his association with the Church of Scientology, Waddingham emphasized that her personal experience with him was remarkably positive. She revealed that there is still another significant scene to shoot with Cruise when production resumes, expressing eagerness to continue working with him.

Waddingham shared her enjoyment of filming the action movie on the USS George H.W. Bush fighter carrier with Cruise, dismissing any negative comments about him. The actress did not reveal the exact role or character she portrays in “Mission: Impossible 8.”

Originally slated for a June 28, 2024 release, the film’s premiere has been rescheduled to May 23, 2025, by Paramount Pictures due to production delays related to strikes, as reported by The Independent.
